getting   a   tattoo    on   vacation

     When deciding to get a tattoo while on vacation, be sure to plan your tattoo session so that it doesn't interfere with your vacation activities. Activities such as going to the beach, swimming, and tanning in the two weeks following a tattoo session will affect the healing process.
     We recommend clients schedule their appointments a day or two before the end of their vacation to avoid plan interruptions, as well as to allow the fresh tattoo to start the healing process before traveling again. Some other things to remember when getting a tattoo while on vacation are:

• Must have legal and current government issued ID (or passport for international guests)
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Eat a full meal beforehand and stay hydrated before, during , and after your appointment
• Remember to maintain proper hygiene before and after your tattoo appointment
• Wear loose fitting clothing appropriate for location of tattoo
• DO NOT get sunburned before your appointment
• Keep tattoo out of direct sunlight
• NO swimming or tanning for a minimum of 2 weeks after your tattoo session
• Inform your artist if you are flying and if possible, bandage the tattoo with Tegaderm while traveling to lower risk of infection
